Evidently three’s a charm for Ellerstina as it scored its first Argentine Open win over the Dominating Adolfo Cambiaso and his 40-goal LaDolfina team in their third final showdown.
It was considered a shootout between the older, established LaDolfina team and the young upstarts on Ellerstina.
The finals fielded a perfect 40-goal team against a young 39-goal team, and the youngsters won. Juan Martin Nero was named Most Valuable Player, the only non 10-goaler on the field, and his horse Havana (owned by Ellerstina) was named tournament BPP. The question has to be “Will he go to 10-goals?, a handicap he already holds in the United States and England (where he also played on the winning British Open team and was also namwd MVP and BPP honors). And will that set the stage for possible 40-40 goal games during the Argentine season next year?
A well done to the Ellerstina team, to the horses that carried them to victory, to the teamwork they displayed to win.
And for LaDolfina, our continued respect for a great team.
I find myself drawn back to the days of Santa Ana (39) and Coronel Suarez (40), and the many finals they appeared in over the course of their rivalry.
Should Nero be elevated to 10-goals? Absolutely!

Of course he should be 10,as well as the other 7 players that played in the finals-unless of course the USPA is involved(Gonzalito staying at 9 here after the summer he had).I know they are not ,but it would be nice if politics stayed out of this one.
